Prada Handbags

Prada Handbags originally started in Europe; but Mario Prada came to the United States once he realized how popular his handbags and shoes were becoming. They started selling leather handbags, trunks, and shoes in 1913 and opened two boutiques in Milan. The classic Prada suitcase had an exotic, unique look, being made of walrus skin. At that time, heavy luggage was ugly and awkward, so he started making more light-weight suitcases from wood and even tortoise shells. Mario Prada's daughter, Miuccia, helped with innovate ideas, inspiring Pocone bags and backpacks made of waterproof fabric.

In 1979, Miuccia took over the company. In order to take Prada back to the top in the designer fashion industry, she expanded the company into manufacturing luxurious backpacks and tote bags made out of black nylon. These bags were a huge hit, and when Hollywood stars started buying them, Prada returned to the top of the industry.

Miuccia shocked the world with her designs and styles, including footwear and elegant clothing. In 1993 she received an international award from the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), and, in 1995, she won the "Designer of the Year" Award.

They continues to develop new ideas and styles and is well-known for its modern, wearable handbags with elegant, glamorous touches. The company is honored for its luxurious designs and first-class quality materials, with stores located in nearly every country.
