Kate Spade Handbags

The first Kate Spade handbags started with boxy, no-nonsense, nylon tote bags in six styles and three neutral colors, the simple, well constructed design with the small rectangular label has become a fashion classic, hangin in closets next to levis jeans and bass loafers. Kate Spade was born Katherine Noel Brosnahan in Kansas City, Missouri in 1962. She is the co-founder of the designer brand, "Kate Spade New York." In 1986, Kate worked in the accessories department of Mademoiselle in Manhattan. She left Mademoiselle in 1991, with the title of Senior Fashion Editor/Head of Accessories. While working for Mademoiselle, she noticed that the market lacked stylish and sensible handbags, so she decided to create her own. Kate browsed local flea markets, began researching different styles, fabrics, and production costs, and created a line of handbags with classic shapes, colors, and fabrics.
