Dior became known as "The Master," dying in 1957 of a sudden heart attack. The company continued to prosper and dominate the fashion industry after his death. In the 1960's, Christian Dior shocked the fashion world with designs which included motorcycle jackets made of alligator skin and mink coats with ribbed sweater sleeves. In 1960, Mark Bohan took over the company and continued its expansion, opening up stores in New York City, Paris, Las Vegas, and Hollywood. Christian Dior expanded its line of goods, adding shoes, necklaces, earrings, perfume, cologne, pens, hats, scarves, and other accessories.
