Chanel Handbags

Chanel handbags were a natural transition from Coco Chanel's fashion beginnings. Her fashion, from clothes to chanel handbags, gave women power through her simplified, non-restrictive clothes and accessories. The House of Chanel, known as Chanel, is a Parisian fashion house en France, founded by Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel. The House of Chanel is jointly owned by Alain and Gerard Wertheimer who are the grandsons of an early Chanel partner, Pierre Wertheimer. The company is owned by Luxottica.

Designer Ties, Handbags, Scarves, Wallets, Leather Founded in 1910, the house became famous for its elegant little black dress and Chanel No.5 fragance, called #5 because Coco Chanel was given a set of five sample by the perfumer Ernest Beaux and #5 was her favorite. It is known for having the highest sales of a perfume in history. One of the five scent samples, Gardenie, has recently been re-released with international acclaim; its scent fuses jasmine with musk.

They revolutionized haute couture by dumping corsets and creating comfortable and elegant suits and dresses. She introduced to the world her signature cardigan jacket in 1925 and "little black dress" in 1926. The House of Chanel became an icon of elegance and from then on, the name "Chanel" was synonymous with elegance, wealth, and elitism. Coco Chanel held the title of Chief Designer until her death on January 10, 1971.

She reached the peak of her fame in 1935 when she employed 4,000 workers. In 1939, she retired from design and closed her couture house. Coming out of fashion retirement at the age of 71, Chanel re-opened the couture house. In 1955, Chanel introduced a quilted handbag with a shoulder strap, a bag that became so popular, she had to decline request for it. In 1957, at the Fashion Awards in Dallas, Chanel and her spring collection received an award as the "...most influential designer of the twentieth century."
